Landscaping Flowers - Photo Post

The landscaping in the front of our house was bare until recently. We decided to go with lighter feeling plants (i.e. fescues, taller flowers, etc.) around the upper pond, and heaver grasses (i.e. taller & broader leaf grasses) around the lower pond.

This is a picture of one of the flowers we planted around the upper pond, they are more in bloom now however I don't think I've got any photos of them which show their beauty more than this one. It was taken on the night we planted the flowers.

I do take pictures ... Honest

I'll be switching to night shift for Friday night, only for one night so I can help with some changes on an "Idle" shift. Due to my need for a late night, I'll be staying up as late as possible tonight attempting to fend off sleep so I can sleep to as close to 11:00 PM tomorrow as possible. With luck, I'll spend as much time as possible working on painting my back bedroom - priming anyway - and when I'm waiting for the paint to dry, or sick of painting, I'll work on some photos so I can begin posting some on here.
I'll go ahead and admit that I'm somewhat paranoid about people using my pictures for a profit without paying me or taking credit for the photo. I don't mind people enjoying my pictures, posting them on their sites, and sharing them with friends; I only hope proper citations/references will be provided (preferably with a link to this blog) when my photos are used.
With photos in mind, I'm going to post smaller versions of my photos on this site - size is undetermined, however roughly 600-700 pixels is anticipated width - if anyone desires a larger copy of the photo all you have to do is send me an email, post a comment, or ask in any way you can devise and I will attempt to accommodate your request.
If you have any suggestions, comments, thoughts, ideas, requests... Fire away. Just keep the comments clean, there may be kids watching.

New Day - New Blog

I read quite a few blogs/sites with the photo-a-day project going, and it makes me want to post pictures more often - especially as I am delving more into photography as a hobby. That, and the fact L.J. was too cumbersome for me to want to update often, is why I've decided to create a new blog.
I can't promise to update daily, maybe not even every other day. However, I will try to post whenever I can, and will attempt to post with some discretion - i.e. not ranting about work.
I'll probably post lessons learned from my photo experimentations, and some key lessons as I can. Sharing the information I've learned about photography is something I've kicked around since I started; I'd like to pretend my motives were nobel, however a big part of it is because I want to be able to reference my own thoughts when I forget.
So sit back, relax, and if I don't post enough, let me know with comments; likewise if you have something to say.
